Location: Queensland BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) is Australia’s largest coal miner and exporter, and the world’s largest supplier to the seaborne coking coal market. With nine mines and a port in Central Queensland, the company is experiencing a major expansion phase, with its outstanding resource base and first class infrastructure assets providing a strong foundation on which to grow and strengthen the business.
Saraji is a large open cut coal operation which utilises a fleet of draglines and truck/shovel fleets to expose, haul and produce 7.5M tonnes of export hard coking coal. Employees reside in the nearby township of Dysart, a modern, well-equipped township, with all facilities, located 250km from Mackay and the Whitsunday Coast.
Saraji Mine is seeking to appoint a qualified Training Coordinator for the Mining Department, reporting to the Mining Superintendent. The successful candidate will provide advice on all training aspects for a large open-cut mining operation.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate:
• A strong commitment to ensure all Occupational Health and Safety policies are managed
• An ability to plan, organise and coordinate a variety of tasks as required within the workgroup
• An ability to build, lead, motivate and participate in multi-skilled work teams
• Well developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• A desire to broaden skills, as well as a commitment to developing the skills of team members
• Work in Improvement Projects
• Coordination and cooperation with other departments
• Budget preparation
The successful candidate will be required to have:
• Certificate IV training & assessment skill or higher
• Previous solid training experience is essential
• Understanding of employment shift roster scheduling in relation to training
• A proven track record in Safety
• Respected leadership abilities
• Heavy industry & equipment knowledge
• Computer literacy - MS Office etc,
• A proven track record of scheduling along with implementation of refresher training and identified training needs
• Accurate record keeping skills
• Experience with training aids such as data projectors, digital cameras and video equipment
