The Resource Development Group (RDG) is committed to adding value to BMA’s operations by providing expertise in Exploration and Geological Services, Strategic Mine Planning, Underground Strategy, and Development and Research. The Geological Services Team operates within the Resource Development Group and is currently seeking an experienced Rig Geologist.
Based in our Central Queensland Office in Moranbah, the successful applicant will be responsible for drill rig supervision, ensuring exploration drilling data is up to required technical standards, and obtained in an efficient, cost effective, productive, secure, safe and environmentally friendly manner. Reporting to the Geology Team Leader, specific responsibilities include:
* Successful delivery of exploration drilling programmes
* Drilling and Geophysical contractor management
* Geotechnical / geological logging, sampling, interpretation and data management
* Continuous improvement of safety, exploration processes and systems
Tertiary qualified in Geosciences, the successful applicant will have extensive experience in coal geology and drill rig supervision, with prior exposure to the Bowen Basin highly desirable. Demonstrable experience in effectively managing field projects, you will demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, with proven experience developing successful relationships with various stakeholders including exploration contractors and mine site personnel. A high level of computer literacy in Microsoft software, geological databases and resource modelling software is required.
