Think Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced resource Geologist to take up a city-based role within a small but cohesive team. Providing advice to projects and sites, you’ll fully utilise your professional expertise in the exploitation of our resource base, enabling the business to plan strategically based on effective resource to reserve conversion.
Think Purpose
This role will provide and maintain advanced resource models for Nickel West mine sites, liaise with Geology for brown field projects, provide advice for and monitor geological database and QAQC requirements, assist with project overflow for strategic mine planning and when required take responsibility for resource models that are developed over time.
Think Requirements
You’ll have significant geological experience ideally in Sulphide Nickel with relevant resource modelling experience. Possessing a high degree of computer literacy, you’ll have competence in a number of software packages, including Datamine, ISATIS and MineSight. Exposure to database management software such as AcQuire will be highly regarded.
Ideally, your practical experience will include both open pit and underground mining methods and familiarity with orebody modelling using various methods.
Complementing your strong consulting skills, you’ll have solid analytical and problem solving capacity. You’ll also be an effective communicator with the ability to bring out the best in others. A tertiary qualification in Geology is essential.
