The Resource Development Group (RDG) is committed to adding value to BMA’s operations by providing expertise in Exploration and Geological Services, Strategic Mine Planning, Underground Strategy, and Development and Research.
The Geological Services Team operates within the Resource Development Group and is currently seeking an experienced Tenements Officer. Based in our Brisbane Office, the successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring all land and mineral tenures and surface rights necessary for BMA exploration, project development and mining operations are acquired in a timely manner and securely maintained. Reporting to the Senior Tenements Officer, specific responsibilities include:
* Actively assisting in the management of all land, exploration and mining tenures though application and acquisition
* Assisting in the preparation and submission of tenure applications
* Drafting and coordinating mining tenement and land tenure applications by interacting with relevant government departments, mine site personnel and external contacts
* Coordinating lodgement processes by complying with all statutory steps and lodgement fee payments
* Compiling and maintaining leases, maps and related data, ensuring tenure information is accurate and current
* Maintaining land, exploration and mining tenure database, assisting with further development requirements
* Filing and maintaining document management systems
* Conducting property, title and company searches
* Ensuring the renewal of leases well before impending expiry dates
* Ensuring all land, exploration and mining tenure rentals, rates and taxes are paid in a timely manner through the SSA process
* Compiling documentation for Group Legal, prior to Land Court process
* Acting for the Senior Tenements Officer during their absence
With relevant tertiary qualifications advantageous, the successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, demonstrating and understanding of cultural heritage, native title and Queensland environmental law and processes. You will have a strong knowledge of the Queensland land and mining tenure system, along with previous exposure to coal mining and exploration processes. Computer literate in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio and SAP, you will posses strong planning and organisational skills, with the proven ability to effectively communicate and interact with people at all levels.
