Worsley Alumina is the joint venture operation of BHP Billiton, Japan Alumina Associates and Sojitz Alumina. As a member of the world’s largest diversified resources company, Worsley manages a bauxite mine, alumina refinery and port operations in Western Australia. An exciting opportunity exists for a capable and driven individual to join the Sourcing and Contracts Team in the Commercial Department in the role of Contracts Officer. Working as part of a department that manages the supply of equipment, spare parts, reagents, consumables and services to our mining and refining operations potential opportunities are endless. This position will require the successful applicant to work closely with operational customers to help achieve organisational goals. This includes ongoing training and education of Worsley staff in relation to contracts management to ensure compliance with commercial policies and procedures.

The successful applicant will ideally have a minimum of three years experience in a procurement or contracting role within the resources industry. Talented individuals with related skills and experience will be considered. Key accountabilities include the collection and analysis of commercial data, developing sourcing strategies and management of tender processes, negotiation of contracts and the management of the contract performance review process.

Professional commercial acumen and a high level of computer literacy are essential pre-requisites of this position with SAP R/3 and Microsoft Office products experience being a distinct advantage.
