Design Engineer - Nuclear/Mechanical/Stress Analysis 70-95 K/yr

IMMEDIATE NEED with a leading manufacturing company located in Montreal, QC. Client is searching for a SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER to join their team on a direct hire basis.

Responsibilities:

-> Play a leadership role in the development program of valve designs to meet new requirements of the nuclear industry
-> Establish design parameters to comply with new plant construction requirements
-> Coordinate design activities for standardized designs for new construction requirements
-> Develop qualification programs for valve assemblies based on ASME QME-1, as well as customer specific requirements
-> Develop and document the technical bases for designs and design changes
-> Perform extensive engineering calculations and analyses and generate detailed design reports

Requirements:

-> BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent plus eight to ten years working as an engineer or equivalent
-> Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including stress analysis and fluid dynamics
-> Experience with gate, globe, check, ball and triple offset valve designs, including air and motor actuated valves
-> Proficiency in using design engineering software for modeling and analysis (preferably Pro/E, Pro/Mechanica, ANSYS, CFDesign)
-> In-depth understanding of materials especially steels, machining process and mechanical assembly
-> Knowledge of Section III of the ASME B&PV Code as it applies to valve design and manufacture, current participation in Code activities is desired
-> Use of broad range of engineering principles and personal experience to develop unique solutions to complex engineering problems
-> PE desired
