BMA Broadmeadow Mine is a punch Longwall underground coal mine, located 190km south west of Mackay, and the Whitsunday Coast. Broadmeadow Mine has the capacity to produce over 3 mtpa of high quality coking coal.
We currently have a vacancy for a Fixed Plant Coordinator in our Maintenance Department and are seeking applications from committed self-starters who can demonstrate behaviours that are in accordance with our values.
As a Fixed Plant Coordinator you will report directly to the Maintenance Superintendent and will be primarily responsible for providing short to mid term plans, engineering outlook and support to the shift fixed plant teams, whilst ensuring continuous improvement in zero harm and productivity on the shift.
The successful applicant will also be expected to:
• Participate in identifying opportunities to improve the safety and performance of the mine services fixed plant section.
• Deliver input and influence over maintenance solutions, work practices and standards.
• Ensure compliance with coal mining legislation across site.
• Ensure management systems (eg HSEC, BMA standards, Maintenance) are complied with and identify areas for improvement.
• Assist in equipment, procurement, installation and commissioning activities.
• Project manage site safety and maintenance initiatives through a systematic planning process
• Coach and mentor others so that they become more effective within their role and grow in professional and technical competence.
• Have a Mechanical Discipline.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in Conveyors, Underground Coal, Surface Fixed apparatus and, supervisory experience. Holding either an engineering degree or advanced trade qualifications in Mechanical disciplines would be an advantage.
