We are expanding every facet of our Iron Ore business as we develop new ways to deliver competitive advantages to our customers. Our most recent growth project, Rapid Growth Project 5, will take installed capacity at our Western Australian Iron Ore operations to 205mpta by the second half of calendar year 2011.

Position Synopsis

We are seeking an achievement-oriented professional, with extensive experience in reliability engineering, to provide superior maintenance advice to BHP Billiton Iron Ore. Reporting to the Vice President Asset Reliability and Sustaining Capital, you will operate as an internal consultant to improve existing operations and to achieve the required asset performance.

Core accountabilities of the position will include:

* Project manage the implementation of agreed asset reliability systems and process on site;
* Project management of a major systems implementation in the reliability area of maintenance;
* Tracking of new assets through whole of life - from acquisition to decommissioning - including fiscal decisions such as operating and maintenance expenses and depreciation;
* Participate in the development of the Western Australian Iron Ore Maintenance System complete with documents / policies / standards;
* Ensure the maintenance structure in SAP facilitates reliability maintenance processes;
* Manage other professionals in system and business process development for reliability programs deployment; and
* Develop life cycle and financial models for reliability analysis.

Skills and Experience

You will be a superior performer, capable of translating complexity into simple terms and able to engage and influence senior leaders. Your track record testifies to your extensive experience in delivering outstanding results in the mining, manufacturing or transportation industries. Systems knowledge of maintenance processes and successful project management skills are essential.

You will have a degree qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and have significant reliability engineering experience. Proficiency in SAP and an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment and community is a must. Most importantly, we are seeking an individual who is capable of delivering results.
