Client located in Columbus, IN is actively looking for a Buyer / Purchaser to be responsible for purchasing of Maintenance spare parts for machines within their manufacturing plant. This is a 6+ month contract assignment. Work is M-F from 8:30am - 5:pm with overtime possible.

Responsibilities:

-> Receive/research/place orders for machine spare parts
-> Track spare part orders and follow to completion
-> Price compare OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) prices and multiple suppliers
-> Track lead times and spare parts inventory/consignment parts locations/usage/ordering/cost
-> Work with manufacturing engineers to set up new spare parts
-> Use maximo/excel/lotus notes

Requirements:

-> Bachelor degree preferred
-> 3-5 yr Manufacturing experience
-> Technical background (skilled trades, technician, engineering, hands on)
-> Detail oriented an able to handle multiple tasks and orders at once
-> Drivers license (parts pick up). Ability to lift objects (50 lbs?)
-> Experience with Maximo/CMMS preferred (CMMS - computerized maintenance management system)
-> Experience with TPM (Total Planned Maintenance) a plus
-> Experience with Lean/5S a plus
