Our Western Canadian-based client is seeking a Senior Estimator for complex earthworks and mining projects. Based in Vancouver, this is a strategically important role in a dynamic and industry-leading organization.
Our client is in growth-mode and is seeking a high caliber estimator for its high profile domestic and international projects. Key responsibilities of the Senior Estimator role include developing detailed and complete project estimates from first principles. This business critical role also involves maintaining the appropriate project controls, leading junior estimating staff and assessing client requirements.
The ideal candidate will be a high caliber Estimator with a minimum of 10 years experience and the following profile:
• Extensive estimating experience in bulk earthworks and mining projects
• Commercially astute with a proven ability to develop strong business relationships at senior levels
• Experience in direct-hire estimating and working with subcontractors and vendors
• An understanding of provincial and municipal government specifications
• Proficient in the use of standard estimating applications (Agtek, HCSS, etc.) along with AutoCAD and Primavera (or similar)
• Superior negotiation skills, dynamic communication skills, and proactive problem solving capabilities
• Demonstrated leadership skills, analytical abilities, and a commitment to the highest standards
• An educational background in civil engineering or technology or equivalent
• Exposure to international projects would be an advantage
