We are now seeking the services of a Senior Mining Engineer who will be included as an integral member of the Perth based Technical Services Group and will be responsible for providing support in the area of open pit mine planning.

As Senior Project Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of a variety of quality projects on time and budget and will be expected to continually evaluate and manage the performance of projects and provide technical support across the business.

Core accountabilities are as follows:
• Providing technical support to the operating mines in the Australia Pacific Region
• The planning and management of development projects – with an operational (mine) improvement focus
• Preparing preliminary designs and detailed designs – focus on mine optimisation
• Providing technical support to the Technical Services Group
• Auditing, improvement and monitoring of planning systems
• Capital projects review and analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Project work as required

With tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, you will have substantial experience in open pit mine planning, scheduling, mine design and optimisation. You will also possess advanced skills in mine planning software (Vulcan, Whittle, Surpac, Datamine).

This is a Perth based position, however, frequent travel to sites in Aus and overseas is a part of this role.

You will have advanced analytical and problem solving skills and aside from your technical expertise, you’ll be a first-class communicator with a strong sense of teamwork and the capacity to mentor and coach team members.
