Position is available in Atlanta for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design large environmental projects such as scrubbers and SCRs, new generation projects, and/or retrofit projects at existing generating plants. Long term contract assignment.
Responsibilities:
-> Responsible for design on large environmental projects such as scrubbers and SCRs, new generation projects, and/or retrofit projects at existing generating plants
-> Responsibility includes preparing design calculations, drawings, bill of materials, and equipment specifications
-> Responsibilities include cost benefits analysis, budgetary impact and performance impact of technical decisions is also required
-> Responsible for preparing and overseeing mechanical design activities including pipe sizing and routing, material selection, pipe support design, valve selection, P&ID preparation, equipment layout, equipment specifications, and hydraulic calculations
-> Responsible for providing oversight and technical direction to other engineers, designers, and drafters
-> Responsible for providing problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal / communications skills, as well in developing scope, schedule and budget
Requirements:
-> Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering required. Advanced degree in related field preferred. PE desired
-> Requires 5 to 10 years experience in industrial and/or large commercial facilities design
-> Detailed knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles
-> Requires proficiency with applicable codes, standards, QA, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
-> Must have a high level of initiative and be able to effectively plan, organize, and execute their work
-> Must be able to handle overall design on large projects at fossil fired generating plants
-> Must have proficiency with AutoCAD, Bentley Products (PDW, P&ID, Data Manager, and Explorer), Pipe Flo, and Excel
-> Must be able to take the lead role for the detailed design activities associated with large projects and / or multiple retrofit projects with little to no supervision

Are you able to take the lead role for the detailed design activities associated with large projects and - or multiple retrofit projects? Explain some of your previous experience.
