Mechanical Engineer - Equipment/Reliability/Root Cause

Location: East Liverpool, OH, USA
Great contract opportunity for a MECHANICAL ENGINEER with experience in heavy industrial plant equipment mechanical integrity, performance, failure modes, root cause analysis, and maintenance. Projected 6 to 12 month contract assignment. Need local candidates, no relo.

Responsibilities:

-> Evaluate the integrity of the plant mechanical equipment and piping performing walkdowns and inspections identifying components requiring maintenance or upgrades to ensure safe reliable performance
-> Perform root cause analyses of component failures or accelerated deterioration
-> Review maintenance records and preventive maintenance procedures and recommend changes to enhance reliability and safety
-> Develop reports for plant management on evaluation conclusions and recommendations

Requirements:

-> BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant engineering field
-> Minimum 5+ years operating plant experience with mechanical equipment, components, and piping systems related to maintenance and reliability
-> Solid experience with equipment failure modes and metallurgical degradation
-> Familiarly with applicable codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, Piping Codes, OHSA, etc
-> Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Questions you will be asked:

• Please describe your experience evaluating industrial plant, power plant, or similar heavy industrial mechanical equipment and piping identifying failure modes, deterioration, and performing root cause analyses noting the type of facilities in which you have worked.

• Please summarize your working familiarity with metallurgical failure modes, nondestructive testing, and repairs.

• Please characterize your working familiarity with applicable codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, Piping Codes, Boiler Codes, OHSA requirements, etc.

• Please list your education and relevant training and certifications.

• Where do you currently reside and When are you available?
