Our most recent growth project, Rapid Growth Project 5, will take installed capacity at our Western Australian Iron Ore operations to 205mpta by the second half of calendar year 2011.
Position Synopsis
We are now seeking an energetic, motivated professional to coordinate the activities of a team of mechanical engineers, provide technical support, advice and solutions on plant delays and equipment failures, as well as assisting with the resolution of safety issues. We are committed to developing your talent and initiative as you focus your proven problem solving expertise on enhancing plant and equipment reliability, thereby actively contributing to achieving long term, measurable improvements in performance and efficiency.
Your key duties will include:
* Coordinating the daily activities of a team of mechanical reliability engineers;
* Managing the execution of minor capital projects;
* Identification and management of defect elimination projects;
* Developing, coaching and mentoring direct reports;
* Preparation of reports on engineering activities;
* Coordination of investigations into equipment failures and performance problems;
* Ensuring that maintenance execution teams receive ongoing engineering support;
* Implementing and managing measurement systems to monitor and analyse reliability trends;
* Actively fostering a reliability culture among operating and maintenance personnel, focusing on defect elimination and continuous improvement;
* Providing expert advice as well as developing and delivering appropriate reliability training to maintenance and operating staff as required; and
* Managing of specialist contractors.
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role you will have a Mechanical Engineering Degree, proven communication and problem solving skills with an ability to identify and implement change. Project Management skills as well as experience in a reliability/maintenance role in heavy industry is desirable. Computer literacy is essential and experience with SAP and SolidWorks is highly desirable.
Location
This is a residential role based in Newman, a town of approximately eight thousand people. It has excellent sporting facilities that cater for a wide range of interests and age groups, a well-appointed shopping centre, and education services to senior level. Full relocation and subsidised housing will be offered to the successful applicant.
