Position Synopsis
Our Financial Services team is looking for a highly technical and exceptionally organised individual to administer the disbursements function for our Accounts Payable function. Your successful disbursement of payments for a range of commodities for our mining operations and group, will result in the timely and cost effective procurement and expediting of goods and materials to meet production, maintenance and engineering requirements for the numerous assets across the BHP Billiton business.
You will collaborate and liaise closely with Banks, Treasury, Finance and Payment Services personnel to achieve this critical roles function.
Your key duties will include:
* Daily Cash forecasting for all of BHP Billiton’s assets;
* Disbursements -domestic and foreign payments;
* Root cause analysis and resolution of returned funds and rejected payments;
* Identification and resolution of system/process problems; and
* Identification of process improvement opportunities.
Skills and Experience
You will have experience in a similar role with demonstrated proficiency in SAP, Oracle or a similar system. Knowledge in Bank’s software platforms and an understanding of foreign exchange principles, treasury operations and forecasting are critical for your success in this role.
A sound knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and MS Office packages will be highly regarded.
Your technical strengths will be complimented by excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the proven flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances. You should also be able to demonstrate a strong team focus and be happy working as part of a large team.
