With nine mines and a port in Central Queensland, the company is experiencing a major expansion phase, with its outstanding resource base and first class infrastructure assets providing a strong foundation on which to grow and strengthen the business.
Saraji is a large open cut coal operation which utilises a fleet of draglines and truck/shovel fleets to expose, haul and produce 7.5M tonnes of export hard coking coal with expansion plans to increase production output to +8M tonnes per annum. Employees reside in the nearby township of Dysart, a modern, well-equipped township, with all facilities, located 250km from Mackay and the Whitsunday Coast
Saraji Mine is currently seeking skilled and experienced Assistant Shotfirers who will form part of a team within the Mining Department.
Ideally applicants shall have:
A strong commitment to ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace.
The ability and aptitude to maintain high standards of safety, equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance with mine working procedures.
The possession of the following skills - Shotfirer experience with MNC041 competency.
Experience in an open cut mine
The ability to work within a team environment
A sound work history
A sound technical knowledge/experience in equipment operation
This is a shift position and salaries will be paid in accordance with the Saraji Mine EBA. Candidates will be required to pass a Coal Board Medical and Drug and Alcohol test.
