Responsible for locating and procuring goods and services based on processing of procurement orders in a financially and environmentally responsible and safe manner using best management practices. Responsible for matching supply description, quality and price from purchase orders to invoices and ensuring that suppliers receive correct payment. Maintain warehouse inventory and track supply turnover to meet business goals. Ensures Environmental/Supply activities maintain compliance with all regulations. Ensures compliance with all GLD requirements at they apply to the Supply Department. Provides end of month activity reports, costing and analysis reports, adhoc briefing notes on suppliers, contractors and contracts statistical information as required. Uses,updates and maintains GSAP and other software systems for procurement of goods and services as well as optimization and maintenance of inventory items. Assist in analysis of contract proposals for services and materials in inventory and rationalization of new material requests. Interacts with Maintenance Department and updates incorrect or inadequate requisition order by including parts number and or parts description. Responds to site requests to supply safety goods that are fit for purpose by researching the market and ensuring continued supply of appropriate items.
Business degree, industry related discipline, or CPM designation with 5 years experience in Supply Chain Management Or 5 years experience in Supply Management and 5 years mining or related industry. Strong knowledge of mining, purchasing, accounts payable and supply operations preferred. Knowledge of computer accounting/purchasing software systems a plus. Knowledge of UCC Law is essential. Computer systems implementations experience a plus. Demonstrated knowledge and abilities in negotiating methods and techniques, contract language and logistic practices and principles. Direct knowledge of the Supply GLDs and the application of them required. Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Global SAP). Understanding of the hazards and risks involved in the mining environment and a demonstrated pattern of conduct consistent with, the acceptance of responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment. Strong customer orientation and innovativeness is critical. Strong writing skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, rapidly changing environment is essential. Previous involvement with various forms of e-commerce a plus.
