Norwich Park Mine is a highly successful open cut mining operation with an unparalleled commitment to safety and environment. Located 24km south east of Dysart and 266km south west of Mackay, Norwich Park began production in 1979, and is currently operating an annual production capacity of 4Mtpa ramping up to 6 million tonnes of coking coal.
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Dragline Engineer, tasked with safely and effectively planning, coordinating and continuously improving the mining plan layout, maximising resource utilization through effective and efficient mining methods. Reporting to the Operational Planning Superintendent, the successful candidate will play a leading role in providing customer focused engineering services to achieve production targets through the analysis of mining efficiency, effectiveness and future planning. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to coach and mentor other team members within the Technical Services Group.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
* Planning and coordinating safe and timely dragline operations
* Ensuring minimal delays through effective scheduling and planning of the dragline operations
* Effectively communicating the requirements and expectations of the required work to our dragline superintendent
* Conducting safety audits and regular safety observations (SAO’s)
* Reviewing, monitoring and developing recommendations to improve dragline performance planning
* Mentor and coach junior engineers in dragline planning and operations
* Ensuring compliance with the mine's Safety and Health, and Environmental Management Systems and Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations
With significant senior level dragline engineering experience in open cut coal mining, demonstrated exposure to truck and shovel / drill and blast operations is further required. Proficiency in the use of Vulcan is essential and an understanding of XPAC and Xeras will be further advantageous. Degree qualified in an engineering / mining related discipline is mandatory, whilst additional supervisory qualifications are highly desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills, with proven experience in both mentoring and project improvement capabilities.
