An opportunity exists for a dedicated professional to join our HSEQ team to provide functional HSEQ/ Risk support to line management. This stimulating role will suit a proactive individual seeking to advance their career through the successful advancement and implementation of HSEQ improvement initiatives.
You will be accountable for planning, coordinating and driving the strategic HSEQ/Risk direction of the business within your area of responsibility.
Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
* Manage Risk, Audits and Compliance matters to ensure the timely achievement of business plan objectives;
* Active involvement in site risk and compliance audits including the provision of assistance to site employees and contracting partners when developing appropriate corrective and preventative measures in response to key compliance, audit and risk issues.
* Active involvement in risk management processes, department HSEQ meetings, monitoring of the open cut work environments.
* Use your sound knowledge of all relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice.
* Coordination of the ISO 14001, AS4801, OHAS 18001 and AS/NZS ISO 9001 certification requirements.
* Coordination of First Priority/ Business Systems and HSEQ Reporting Requirements
* Other activities as directed by the HSEQ Superintendent (Environment, Risk & Compliance) and HSEQ Manager.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* Excellent interpersonal, the ability to communicate at all levels and a strong customer-service focus.
* Experience in risk management, HSEQ systems and ISO standards.
* Previous experience in mining or other heavy industries is essential.
* A professional qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a relevant related discipline will be highly regarded.
