Role Profile:

Provide independent opinion on the state of control health pertaining to the various operations and key disciplines, as well as making recommendations to management for improvements.
Core Accountabilities:

* Participate in the planning of audits for allocated assets.
* Successful completion of audit work plans, as sanctioned by the audit committee.
* Actively engage in, and where appropriate lead, the identification and resolution of assurance and control issues within a SOX control environment.
* Ensure that a sound, professional working relationship is created and maintained with Group management.
* Ensure that audit processes are conducted effectively and efficiently.
* Assess both the design and operating effectiveness of controls governing key operational processes and business risks.
* Demonstrate proficiency in audit planning, fieldwork and reporting processes.
* Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls for Group assets.
* Advise management on areas of cost savings arising from individual audits.
* Manage relationship with asset personnel.
* Positively support an environment of knowledge sharing and thought leadership within the function.
* Coordinate audit services with the external auditors for allocated assets.
* Assist Regional Audit Manager with administrative assignments.
* Special project and assignments as deemed necessary within the department.

Qualifications & Requirements:

* Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or IS
* CIA and/or CPA certifications highly preferred
* Master's degree highly regarded
* Demonstrated proficiency with an ERP accounting system required; SAP highly preferred
* Strong audit software experience required; GRC and ACL preferred
* 8 - 12 years public or internal audit experience required, preferably in Big 4 or large corporate capacity
* Minimum 5 years providing audit services specifically to the upstream petroleum industry; direct experience with a Top 10 E&P company highly preferred
* Proven knowledge of and experience with IIA's Professional Practices Framework, COSO and PCA Oversight Board guidelines.
* Proven business presentation skills.
* Very strong written and spoken English language skills.
