Location: USA • Manage hardware and field architecture teams as well as perform subsea design engineering functions
• Responsibility for group: lead on a subsea project or a segment of a larger multi-disciplines project, including: oversight of project progress, staff, budget, monitoring change orders and attend regular project meetings
• May be assigned work on complex subsea projects with conflicting design requirements, unconventional materials or installation requirements
• Provide technical guidance/coaching to subsea designers and mentor less experience engineers
• Research available subsea hardware options as well as stay abreast of current design qualification efforts in order to implement new technologies into the field architecture solution
• Develop innovative subsea design, inventions, patents, technologies and present these in white papers at industry trade shows
• Provide guidance to group by developing cost effective field architecture designs; interface with Pipeline, Flow Assurance, Riser, SS Hardware,and Marine groups as applicable
• Prepare and approve design basis, project execution plans, and related project documentation
• Resolve important project related issues and interface with the client to insure the project scope deliverables are being met
• Check specs, datasheets, reports, technical notes, procedures, Instructions and Notes to Bidders, RFQ and procurement packages for PO award and material requisitions, and bid evaluations
• Provide bid engineering support and prepare CTR’s related to subsea field architecture designs
• Provide marketing support to the Business Development
• Ensuring group operatesunder all McDermott ISO 9001 procedures.
Job Requirements:
• Min. BS degree in Engineering
• Certification as a Licensed Professional Engineer is highly preferred
• 20+ years of professional engineering experience in the offshore and/or subsea industry
• Familiar with oil and gas field development solutions that include various types of subsea hardware and systems, pipelines/flowlines, risers, and control systems in both shallow and deep water
• Knowledgeable of subsea design codes (API, DnV, ASME, BS)
• Ability to work independently and make decisions on subsea engineering problems
• Demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems efficiently and economically
• Good interpersonal skills and able to interface with Clients, Consultants, Vendors, designers and others in a multi-discipline team
• Must have good computer skills and be proficient on Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be organized both physically and in electronic data storage habits
• Must have good writing and presentation skills, proficiency in project management
• Have excellent work ethic and maintains a good work attitude
