Drilling Cost Controller

4793 � Drilling Cost Controller required for operator in Algeria. To start ASAP, working rotational in Algeria. Responsible for ensuring that all costs related to D&C activities are committed and tracked within company cost tracking module.

Key responsibilities:
- Maintain cost database for drilling projects on a daily basis.
- Responsible for accumulation of all committed daily costs and download into a format to allow rig to update DIMS / Open Wells costs.
- Ensuring all financial commitments are controlled, reported, queried, as required.
- Management of AFE budget control.
- Liaise with drilling engineers and vendors to obtain finalised quotations. Capture in cost tracking system.
- Liaise with office and rig based materials personnel to accurately track material movements.
- Supply reports to rig to ensure visibility of high cost rental equipment on hire.
- Maintain cost report system to ensure accurate match of invoices submitted for payment.
- Maintain an auditable trail of all entries in cost tracker. Support wells team for cost forecasting, monthly accruals against the AFE.
- Help to review and understand monthly spend reports generated.
- Identify and understand allocations that affect the drilling CAPEX
- Detail costs of drilling personnel.
- Generate reports as required by Drilling Superintendent and drilling team.
- Maintain action tracking system for the cost controller position.
- Make occasional visits to rig site

Key requirements:
- University diploma, prefer accounting or finance diploma
- Accounting or cost control experience, within the Oil and Gas Industry
- Knowledge of drilling and drilling tools
- Experience with contract execution and contract compliance desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of stock inventory and stock inventory control desirable
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision within a small dedicated team
- Fluent in French desirable
- Computer skills, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and ability to cost database
