Clarence City Council BUSINESS UNIT OFFICER ROADS AND TRANSPORT (Readvertised) • Professional and challenging environment• 9-day fortnight This is a key position where you will have the opportunity to make a sizable contribution to the success of our business. You will be responsible for leading, supervising and coordinating the organisation's day labour and contract labour workforce within the Roads and Transport Business Unit. We are looking for a person who will add value to our Physical Services management team: • planning, scheduling, implementing and monitoring work activities in regard to construction and maintenance of Council's road network;• monitoring, reporting and where necessary recommending corrective action on the financial and physical progress of the Annual Operating Plan;• developing forward business, training and resource plans and associated budgets; and developing and implementing sound environmental principles, occupational health and safety standards, and industry work practices. An attractive salary package will be offered to the right applicant with excellent work conditions including 9-day fortnight, commuter vehicle use and 12 % superannuation. A requirement of this role is participation in the roster for out of hours emergency callouts. Council is an equal opportunity employer and a smoke free workplace.
