Technical Auditor (Risk and Safety Specialist)

Located in the heart of the CBD, we have a vacancy in our Technical Compliance branch for a Technical Auditor (Risk and Safety Specialist).

Reporting to the Technical Compliance Manager, the primary purpose of the role is to provide expert guidance and assistance to our client to establish and monitor compliance with technical regulatory requirements relating to safe operation; legislation; licence conditions; and Safety Cases associated with the systems for design, construction, operation and maintenance of gas distribution networks and associated facilities.

To be considered for this role you must have:

Degree in Engineering, Science, OHS or related discipline with 2 - 5 years experience in safety regulation and/or risk and asset integrity management, or technical auditing role. Well developed technical auditing skills in relation to auditing technical HSE and asset management systems, the development of audit plans and monitoring and reporting on progress against the audit plan. Knowledge of safety management and asset integrity management systems. Understanding of various qualitative risk assessment techniques. Success and experience in building and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Understanding of safety design and safety standards. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with multiple conflicting priorities, complex problems and independently manage projects. Demonstrated negotiation, conflict resolution, consultation and influencing skills. Computer literate and competent in use of the MS suite of software. Well developed analytical, conceptual, problem solving, verbal and written skills. Understanding of the application of technical legislation and standards relating to the management of gas transmission and distribution networks would be advantageous.
