Our client is an exciting & dynamic mining group who has a proven track record of bringing new mines into production. They operate from a Perth based office and offer rosters on a FIFO ex-Perth basis. The company is actively seeking an experienced Mine/Senior Geologist who can take a lead role with all day-to-day geology functions at an existing operation. The position will report to the Mine Manager and will be expected to manage the effective extraction or ore from a small - medium surface mine.
Key duties will include:
Supervising daily grade-control activities, including supervision of Graduate Geologist
Design all grade-control drilling and supervise drilling contractor
Design and assist in completion of near-mine exploration
Assist with pit mapping and design sampling programs
Update 3D geological models
End of month reporting
Assist with mine planning & pit design work
The position will require previous experience in an open-pit mine, in addition to the following:
Previous experience with the supervision of graduate geologists
Strong computer literacy
Proven experience with geological interp and 3D modelling
Excellent communication skills
