Immediate Need!!
Large Manufacturing Company in Southwest, Georgia is actively searching for a Development Design Engineer with experience designing gas appliances or related products.

Responsibilities:

-> Design and develop cost effective new products that support Product Business Team goals and objectives
-> Incorporate new technology and innovation ideas into company products
-> Develop Computer Aided Design models, drawings, and engineering bill of materials that meet project timeline goals
-> Develop preliminary concept CAD models to support marketing/sales presentations and for preliminary product costing
-> Work with the Innovation and R&D groups to convert new product concepts into finished products that meet third party certification standards and marketing requirements
-> Develop product prototypes using both internal and outside resources to perform both design validation and certification testing
-> Reduce both product and warranty cost through product design
-> Provide engineering documentation as required to the Asian Product Engineering group to facilitate product tooling release and manufacturing startup
-> Obtain third party certification for new or updated products to the appropriate standards as assigned
-> Provide design direction to contracted engineering resources as assigned
-> Conduct engineering pilot runs and support production pilot runs for new products as required

Requirements:

-> Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study from an accredited four year college on university
-> Any advanced degree is a plus
-> Minimum of 5 years experience designing gas appliances or related products
-> Proficient at creating complete product designs using PTC Wildfire 2.0 or 3.0 CAD software
-> Ability to use PTC Sheetmetal application is a plus
-> Experience with coordinating product development tasks with Asian/Global supplier-partners is highly desirable
-> Foreign travel may be required
-> Experience in prioritizing and handling multiple, complex projects simultaneously
-> Must have a working knowledge of third party ( UL, CSA, MTL, etc. ) certification processes and procedures
