Construction Manager - Construction/Substation/Electrical

A leading engineering and construction client is experiencing a rapid growth in business and needs Construction Managers on contract for electrical substation construction projects, working from field offices in central Kentucky. Needs can occur on short notice, so they prefer persons who are available immediately, can flex to different job site assignments and who live in Kentucky or its border states. Per diem (where needed), company vehicle, and fire retardant clothing are provided.

Responsibilities:

-> Use your expertise in power utility construction management to safely lead multiple substation construction projects from mobilization to commissioning
-> Manage the day to day work of construction and technical staff, consultants and contractors involved in the projects, including maintaining a daily log, as-builts, etc
-> Manage project materials to ensure that material is available at the point when needed
-> Maintain the project schedule and budget and drive the projects to meet these goals
-> Manage project meetings and provide updates on budget and schedule to the home office as needed

Requirements:

-> At least 3 years current experience in electric utility substation construction
-> Degree or other training in Construction Management or related field is a major plus
-> Safe work record and a record of leading others in Safety
-> Well organized, focused, goal oriented, with good people skills and negotiating skills
-> Able to use Microsoft Office and other computer applications
