Aerotek Energy Services currently has 1 immediate opening for a Commissioning Engineer (Field Engineer) with our large oil & gas offshore client. This position is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity. Our client is based in Houston, TX however 75-85% of the time would be spent offshore & onshore.
Summary:
-Participates in the execution and commissioning phases of projects.
-Applicant must have experience in the offshore oil and gas industry.
-Candidate should have extensive experience in pipe laying systems, heavy lifting equipment, and mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control systems.
-This position is responsible for performing and overseeing commissioning tasks on various equipment and systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Working with general guidance, this position performs and oversees commissioning tasks on various equipment and systems.
-Has a broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control systems.
-Participates in defining engineering approaches and in planning and prioritizing work related to commissioning and other assigned tasks.
-Selects and implements engineering techniques and solutions to solve difficult problems.
-Independently evaluates, analyzes and approves installations prior to commissioning.
-Works with field teams on equipment issue identification, analysis and repairs at new and previously commissioned customer sites.
-Collaborates with engineers to provide technical and engineering assistance on defined problems.
-Reviews and checks project specific drawings and data sheets to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards.
-Learns and provides feedback on engineering work processes.
-Interfaces with internal and external customers/suppliers and performs equipment testing.
-Ensures successful completion of assigned project phases within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
Minimum Experience:
-BSME OR BSEE Required (4 Yr. Degree)
-Top Drive Experience
-Minimum 5+years of experience as a Field Engineer/Commissioning Engineer
-Experience with PLC Troubleshooting & repair
