Operations Manager - Waste Water/Utilities/Project Manager 95-135 K/yr

Chief Operating Officer needed at a waste water treatment facility in Alexandria, VA

Responsibilities:

-> Providing executive leadership necessary to ensure the appropriate operational controls and technical expertise in place to increase operational efficiency and enhance procedural effectiveness
-> Principal advisor to Engineer-Director/General Manager as it relates to the development and implementation of strategic business plans
-> Collaborate with Division Directors to develop and implement plans, strategies and initiatives that support the core mission
-> Define, track, report and periodically assess performance objectives as it relates compliance and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
-> Oversee the entire operational, maintenance and laboratory functions for the facility including the collection systems and pump stations during normal, emergency and intense weather conditions

Requirements:

-> 10 years experience in progressively responsible management with at least 4 years at the executive management level, preferably in wastewater, water, or utility fields
-> Minimum requirement is a B.S. degree in civil, sanitary, environmental, or chemical engineering. Advanced degree in technical or management field preferred
-> Class I Virginia Wastewater Operator license or the ability to obtain a Class I Virginia Wastewater Operator License within one year of employment
-> Must have considerable project management experience and a demonstrated leadership record as a senior manager
-> Demonstrated understanding of wastewater reclamation systems and approaches to the organization and management of related staff and functions
-> Ability to interface and work well with all levels of government and industry organizations and display good professional judgment, management expertise and decisiveness
-> PE License is preferred
