A successful Canadian base and precious metals resource company is looking for a pro-active, results-focused Mine Engineer to drive the development of the strategic mine plan and ensure resource optimization of the company?s world-class South American property.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Chief Mine Engineer, as a member of the mine management team, will oversee the development and maintenance of long and short term mine plans and designs as well as analyzing and making recommendations to improve mine operating performance, promote cost reductions and reduce waste and operational delays in the areas of production method, mine design, material handling, manpower requirement, cost analysis, and other areas. The Chief Engineer will also oversee large capital projects and direct outside consultants and contractors.
You have a B.Sc. in a Mine Engineering discipline with 10+ years experience in underground mining, engineering and mine planning. Knowledge of backfill practices is essential as well as supervisory/management experience. You will require only some basic Spanish language skills but, English fluency is required.
