A Senior Mining Engineer is required at a large open cut hard rock operation in Queensland. This position is responsible for the provision of high quality technical services to the operation ensuring safe & efficient mining practices. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

* Ensuring short & medium term plans are in line with long term plans
* Communicating plans effectively o production personnel
* Contributing to development of budgets & cost models
* Providing support & mentoring to technical team with regards to mine planning, design and reserve estimation
* Contributing to continuous improvement projects across the site

This role requires a Mining Engineer that has solid experience within mine planning in open cut hard rock mines. Specifically the successful applicant requires:

* Tertiary qualifications
* Strong technical skills in mine planning
* Proficiency with mine planning software (Vulcan is preferred)
* Demonstrated sound written and verbal communication skills
* Good report writing skills
