P&O Maritime Services is a diverse global company which has grown by providing specialist shipping and related logistics needs to its client base. The Cargo Services Division operates a fleet of vessels in Papua New Guinea (PNG), providing services for the OkTedi and Lihir Mines.T his operation specialises in bulk cargo, research and river support services.
We are looking for experienced marine professional Operations Manager that can continue our drive to deliver safe, reliable and compliant operations. Position is based in Port Moresby, PNG.
This role will lead and manage all aspects of vessel operations and resources to deliver cost effective, timely and high quality services to meet the contractual requirements of P & O Maritime Services.
This position is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the company’s PNG operations located in Port Moresby, Lihir and Kiunga. The position requires strong leadership from an experienced Marine Manager (deck or engine) who has the ability to deliver more than just operational effectiveness. We seek individuals who with their operational experience have the scope and depth to help grow the business. Candidates have the opportunity to progress to be the senior in-country executive.
Qualifications and experience
* Demonstrated experience in the management of vessel and shipping operations
* Demonstrated experience developing and managing operational budgets and sound understanding of financial management principles
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
* Demonstrated experience in developing, co-ordinating and implementing plans, policies and procedures in support of organisational strategic objectives
* 1st Class Motor Certificate of Competency or Master Class 1 Certificate of Competency or equivalent
