Our client is one of Australia's largest mining and construction groups, with contracts throughout Australia and South East Asia. Having had a presence in Indonesia for over 20 years, their Indonesian business is a key employer in the region with multiple mining projects.
An opportunity exists for an experienced Mining Superintendent to join their Indonesian business. Reporting to the Project Manager, the objective of the Mining Superintendent is to successfully manage the mining operation to ensure production and cost targets are met while providing a safe place of work.
Key accountabilities include:
* To coordinate the open pit operation to achieve production and equipment utilization targets in a cost effective, timely and safe manner,
* To develop continuous improvement and optimization programs with the load and haul and drill and blast functions to ensure optimum efficiencies of those functions,
* To ensure the excellent safety record and encourage employee participation in health and safety matters to comply with statutory requirements and meet internal targets,
* To provide comprehensive operator training packages to ensure productivity targets are achieved.
In your career to date, you will:
* possess a minimum of 8 to 10 years experience in open cut coal operations and significant supervisory/management experience,
* have experience working with a diverse and multicultural work force, cultural sensitivity and understanding of Indonesian cultural is highly desirable,
* be a well disciplined critical thinker who motivates others to achieve goals,
* have demonstrated success in delivering results through people in your pursuit of achieving project key performance indicators.
