Our client is one of Australia's largest mining and construction groups, with contracts throughout Australia and South East Asia. Having had a presence in Indonesia for over 20 years, their Indonesian business is a key employer in the region with multiple mining projects.
They currently seek to appoint a Surface Operations Specialist to their Indonesian business. Reporting to the Training Manager, the Surface Operations Specialist will be responsible for the development of mining operators to ensure safety in the work place and the achievement of productivity targets.
Key accountabilities include:
* Develop Training Needs Analysis in order to prevent accidents,
* Coordinate the implementation of training programs as designed by the Training Department to ensure that the competency gap is closed,
* Supervise trainers in assessment of operators and maintenance employees,
* Monitor post training performance of operators to ensure that the training has been done effectively,
* Take part in accident investigations,
* Assist safety officers to conduct inductions for new operators with regard to equipment operation,
* Maintain proper documentation of all training and assessment activities.
To be considered for this role you will have:
* A background in open pit coal operations with a minimum of 6 years as a production operator,
* Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and 5 to 8 years experience as a trainer in an open pit coal environment,
* Cultural sensitivity and understanding of Indonesian cultural is highly desirable,
* Demonstrated success in delivering results through people in your pursuit of achieving key performance indicators.
