Contract Geologist

Our client is a fully integrated, global manufacturer and distributor of steel and finished steel products, self-sufficient in both iron ore and scrap metal, with revenues in excess of $6 billion Australian dollars.

Our client currently seeks to appoint a Contract Geologist to their South Australia operation. Key responsibilities of the Contract Geologist will include:

* Organise own personal resources and equipment each day at the SMR Operations.
* Accountable for the implementation of the daily plan as per the weekly production schedule.
* Logging Blastholes
* Ore Block Taping
* Ore Spotting
* Face and Bench Mapping
* Geological Reporting
* Quality Assurance
* Quality Control

The successful applicant will have:

* Tertiary qualifications in Geology and a minimum of 2 to 5 years experience in open pit mining.
* Production background in large scale open pit mines
* An excellent working knowledge Datamine Studio 3 software
* First Aid Certificate desirable
* Knowledge of Acquire database

A generous remuneration package, commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills and experience. The package will cover all living expenses. This position is offered on a 8/6 days roster, FIFO Adelaide.
