Our Client requires a Plant Mill Manager for its state of the art process plant in West Africa. The incumbent will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of a conventional crushing, milling, and CIL gold plant.
Reporting to the General Manager you will plan, coordinate, communicate, manage, evaluate and control Mill department activities and personnel in accordance with the Companies objectives and policies and assume responsibility for achieving production and productivity objectives while at the same time ensuring the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of personnel, equipment and budget/cost control.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that systems and procedures are applied to manage, evaluate and direct mill activities and performance;
Assume responsibility for all mill activity aspects: safety, environment, operations, metallurgy, laboratory, training, cost effectiveness and maintenance;
Provide electrical power to all site users;
Apply the metallurgy/control process strategy to optimize gold recovery;
Ensure the goals, objectives and standards are established and effectively communicated to mill personnel;
Make sure the necessary manpower and resources are available to carry out all the activities required to meet objectives safely, efficiently and effectively;
To qualify for this position you will have:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgy or equivalent.
At least 10 years of advancement in technical, supervisory and management positions associated with ore processing.
Prior experience and knowledge of health-safety management; emergency response and environmental management.
Linguistic abilities: Excellent French and good spoken and written English.
Thorough knowledge of mine operations and ore processing practices and principles.
Computer skills in MS Office and MS Project.
Overseas experience, preferably in Africa.
This permanent position is offered on a single or married residential status living in the capital city. An excellent remuneration package is on offer for the right candidate.
