A Toronto-based mining company with operating coal mines and export infrastructure in Latin America is looking to enhance its management team with the addition of a Chief Operating Officer (COO). The COO will be responsible for the direction of all aspects of the company?s operations to achieve corporate and financial goals. This will include the overall management and responsibility for the company?s existing mines as well as future developments and expansions. They will be a member of the Senior Management team and will have significant input into the continued refinement and execution of the company?s strategy for growth.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced mining executive with extensive senior level mine operations experience in open pit mining operations. Solid experience in managing operations and diverse teams. Fluent in Spanish and English. A background in Mining, Geological or Civil Engineering or a related discipline. This is a highly critical leadership position with significant budgetary responsibilities, direct project management leadership and oversight of multiple operations.
The position will be based in Columbia with travel to operational sites and head office as needed.
