The Carlota Copper Company has an immediate opening at its mining operation located in the Globe/Miami, Arizona mining district, six miles west of Miami, AZ.
Senior Mine Geologist
The Carlota Copper Project is an open pit mining, heap leach, and SX/EW operation producing cathode copper over a nine year mine life plus two years of residual leach. The plant has been designed to produce up to 75 million pounds of copper cathode per year.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 7 years experience in the mining industry preferably in an open pit operation with a B.S. degree in Geology or Geological Engineering. Primary responsibilities include ore control, sampling and proper sampling protocols, pit mapping, managing drilling programs and the associated collection of geological data to support geological, geotechnical and mineralogical and metallurgical systems. Additional duties include providing Mine Geological services and support for short and long range planning, modelling and mine development, determining reserve evaluations and estimations, and experience with resource development. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines, work with minimum supervision, and have a working knowledge of Mine Planning software, AutoCAD, Word Processing, Database and Spreadsheet programs. Knowledge of MineSight is a plus.
