Location: Saudi Arabia MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: BS Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or its equivalent. Graduate degree is desirable. Advanced professional competence evidenced by professional licenses and other forms of continuing professional education. Experience: 12 years relevant experience in business development. Will be highly knowledgeable in business development, will possess relevant industry expertise and will have solid experience in specific venturing activities such as commercialization, spin-offs or joint venturing. Language: Proficient in oral and written English. Some command of Arabic is beneficial but not essential.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The position is responsible for sourcing, conceptualizing, screening, analyzing, planning and developing new business ventures of variable dimensions, related to both refining and petrochemical businesses or combined integrated businesses in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The position handles from non complex business ventures in the order of million of dollars (5 to 10) to very large and complex deals in the order of several billions of dollars (10 Billion $ +). The position interacts with both high level internal positions in the company such as Project Management, Corporate Planning, Facilities Planning, Joint Ventures Development, Vice-presidents and Senior Vice presidents, as well as with high level external business executives from the refining and petrochemical sector, seeking for the development joint investments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It also interacts with high level advisors or consultants in the sector, and coordinates the execution of studies, price scenarios, economic & financial analysis related to the portfolio of projects at hand. The position demands business development expertise with primarily focus on joint refining and petrochemical ventures development, and as a minimum a strong background in the development of large petrochemical ventures, where several alternative feedstock's may be selected, with highly complex process configurations and with the need for a clear understanding of economies associated to chemical value chains. The position entitles the following regular activities: Manage business development process from screening through deal closure, Prioritize business proposals against investment criteria and Company business portfolio strategy, definition of scope and objectives for any particular business, with creativity to offer technical and commercial solutions for deal conclusion, revision of investors proposals and capacity to elaborate contra proposals, build, update and/or modify process blocks and economic models in excel or equivalent software to represent both refining and petrochemical integrated process units and their inherent financial economics indicators, regular access to technical and economic data bases such as SRI, CMAI, ICIS, etc in order to provide technical and economical knowledge and support to business development teams or executive or management levels, generate yearly reports describing the chemical industry market trends, the top players position, petrochemical commodities demand growth trends, demand/supply balances, identification of areas of opportunity for investment, potential partners pre-screening, Clear understanding and articulation of commercial driven strategies for business development, capacity to work both on an individual or team basis assignments and work with both internal organizations and external investors and advisors to promote new business opportunities In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Business Development Specialist will: Manage business development process from screening through deal closure. Drive screening and validation activities to progress proposals through stage gates. Prioritize business proposals against investment criteria and NBD portfolio strategy. Lead efforts to formulate a resource and funding plans to transform business proposal from Concept to a closed deal. Serve as a liaison between NBD and the internal proponent organization. Lead business planning and economic modeling. Determine the scope and objectives of the deal, offering messages and "technical" solution that make up Saudi Aramco's business offering. Assemble initial offerings to potential investors. Lead investor selection activities. Coordinate with Saudi Aramco subject matter experts to draft Memorandums of Understanding/Letter of Intent. Participate in creating the commercial, financial and technical framework for the deal. Prepare for and conduct negotiations to secure a deal is consistent with Saudi Aramco's offer, investor expectations and set parameters Ensures compliance to process stage gates and approvals. Approves contract payments and variations within limit. Provides administrative direction and personnel management to all assigned Business Development Analysts. Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.
