Reporting to the HR Superintendent - Training & Organisational Development, this role is primarily responsible for leading, co-ordination and delivery of all aspects of operational training for the GEMCO site.
Leading a team of Trainers, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective on-boarding process encompassing general induction and core job specific training modules prior to department handover. This role will play an integral part in supporting behavioural based safety initiatives and increasing skills and competencies to achieve our goal of zero harm.
Assisting with the development of the annual training calendar, your skill in design, development and delivery of operational or safety related training modules, together with previous leadership and site coordination experience will be critical to the success of this role.
Key role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
* Facilitation / Training Delivery and Assessment for relevant Operational and Safety Training (eg. Working at Heights, Confined Space, OHS Legislation, Induction Programs) as required
* Effective team leadership to deliver a consistent high standard of competency across all departments in all facets of safety and operational training.
* Stakeholder engagement and ability to work effectively with department personnel to ensure adequate competency standards are met and reviewed regularly
* Coordination of induction program Trainers and scheduling of training and core job specific modules prior to department handover
* Review and development of learning modules, particularly in relation to induction, safety, mobile equipment and basic maintenance
* Cost effective management of operational training costs and budget component
* Effective record management systems and audit compliance standards
Essential Qualifications & Experience/Skills:
* Minimum of Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (preferably TAA40104) essential
* Strong background and proven ability to design and deliver a range of operational and/ or safety training programs or activities in an mining environment (or similar);
* Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant legislation and risk based approach to compliance;
* Ability to plan and coordinate training for multiple areas and resource effectively;
* Ability to design learning initiatives to enhance practical skills application and competency
* Experience in structure and delivery of training to individuals with special literacy/numeracy needs is desirable
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field preferred eg. Safety, Training / Education
The successful individual will have a proven track record quality performance in a similar role, preferably within the mining sector or heavy industry. Excellent written, verbal communication, facilitation skills are essential.
