Position Synopsis
We currently have an opportunity for a forward thinking and driven leader within our Port Hedland Railway Workshops. Reporting directly to the Manager Railway Workshops, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the rolling stock Asset Management system that supports our rapidly growing fleet of approximately 100+ Locomotives and 5,000+ ore cars.
Working across the Railway Workshops, you will be responsible for providing leadership, coaching and mentoring to the Maintenance Planning, Engineering and Vehicle Maintenance Workshop teams.
The key accountabilities within this role are:
* Maintaining a high profile to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors;
* Managing the maintenance planning and scheduling systems to improve fleet reliability;
* Managing the Defect Elimination / Reliability engineering process;
* Fleet strategy development for the Locomotive and Ore Car fleets;
* Managing multiple Condition Monitoring systems;
* Overseeing various electrical and mechanical engineering projects;
* Providing leadership to a diverse team of technical specialists; and
* Leading cultural and organisational change.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate for this role will display strong leadership and technical skills that they have developed from their extensive maintenance management experience in mining or heavy industry. You will ideally have a degree in engineering, maintenance or an associated discipline.
Credible and influential, you have the ability to clearly communicate ideas and opinions throughout the business, build relationships and influence others to optimise safety and performance. Your commitment to delivering on plans will be a key contributor to your success, as is your systems thinking.
