Providing project engineering support to KNR’s operations, your role will be to design and implement projects associated with the sites, capital and technology plans.

Think Purpose
Reporting to the Principal Project Engineer - Technical Department, the Senior Project Engineer position involves:
* Management of capital engineering projects, from concept development through to detail design, construction, commissioning and handover to operations as per the NiW Small Project Delivery Framework.
* Providing mechanical and electrical project engineering support to the operations and maintenance department as required.
* Supervision of staff and/or contract project engineering staff within the Technical Project Engineering organisational unit, such as Project Engineers, Project Officers and Mechanical / Electrical Drafters.
* Supervision of construction contractors and contract project engineering support personnel throughout the various phases of the project.
* Compilation of capital project approval documentation, including business case analysis, adequate project definition, financial and timing forecast.
* Ensuring safety and compliance with KNR HSEC and Community Relations procedures at all stages of project implementation.
Think Requirements
With a tertiary qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, you will have sound knowledge of key design safety management systems, including HAZOP’s, you’ll set high personal and safety standards and you’ll be an agent of change. You’ll have strong technical knowledge of mechanical / electrical engineering design in classified hazardous and unclassified areas, and a solid understanding of Australian Standards and their application.
You will be an integral part of the Project Engineering team, demonstrating project engineering experience in both the mechanical and electrical field, with multiple projects exposure from the concept phase through to the execution phase. You’ll have industrial plant experience in refineries, ore processing plants or petrochemicals with exposure to process equipment such as pumps, pipe work, tankage, pressure vessels, pressure relief control systems and the associated control systems.
Your other attributes should include the ability to develop and monitor budgets and project schedules, excellent communication and report writing skills and the ability to lead a small engineering / construction team.
