Intermediate Mine Accountant Tumbler Ridge, BC, Canada
Reporting directly to the Chief Accountant, the Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for assisting with month end closing, including journal entry postings; carrying out account reconciliations; preparing draft monthly operational reports; assisting operations management in analyzing their departmental costs; providing supervision, backup relief and reconciliation assistance for accounts payable and other accounting related activities as directed. This is a progressive position with opportunity for advancement.
The ideal candidate will be a recently designated accountant, but candidates with equivalent education and experience (i.e. three years accounting courses and five years practical experience in a related environment) will also be considered. Must possess advanced Excel skills, including use of a wide variety of formulas. This position requires a career focused individual with strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills to function in a deadline driven environment. Experience with ERP programs preferred and knowledge of Mincom Ellipse software would be a great asset.
