Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
A Mechanical or Chemical engineering degree recognized by APEGGA/APEGS with P.Eng. status.
H2S Alive is required.
A minimum 10 years' industry experience, including operations engineering and project management experience at an oil and/or gas processing facility or in a heavy oil production environment.
Familiarity with engineering standards relevant to the oil and gas industry, including ASME, NEMA, IEEE, API, CSA, etc. would be an asset.
Familiarity with Alberta and Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Codes is preferred.
Familiarity with the requirements of AE and ERCB pertaining to construction of oil and gas facilities is preferred.
Knowledge of and practical experience in design of crude oil and gas facilities is required.
Proficient with MS Office Suite.
Strong technical knowledge, interpersonal, innovation, and organizational skills, with the proven ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various disciplines to achieve goals, and to identify and resolve problems.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work independently, and the willingness to mentor, coach and develop junior staff.
Exceptional business writing and oral communication skills.
Excellent team player with the ability to work collaboratively with people internal and external to the organization (contractors, consultants, inspectors, vendors, manufacturers, shop fabricators, pipeline customers, etc.)
Responsibilities:
The Lloydminster Pipeline Operations team is looking for a Senior Pipeline Engineer to take on a lead role in providing technical engineering support with a focus on optimization, reliability improvement, energy management, and deployment of maintenance capital. As the successful candidate, a significant component of your core function will be the coaching and mentoring of direct reports to equip them with the tools, knowledge and opportunities for development. You will work closely with Operations.
Requirements:
Specific responsibilities include:
Providing direction for day to day operation and maintenance support, pipeline system planning and optimizations for the Lloydminster Pipeline Group.
Providing technical support, such as process and energy efficiency studies, preventative/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment and technology evaluations.
Providing project management/coordination of all engineering work for Pipeline Operations group, including interfacing with Engineering consultants.
Preparing project designs, Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) cost estimates, economic justifications, project schedules and monitoring costs during execution, start-up/commissioning coordination.
Interfacing with pipeline operations and maintenance personnel to ensure cost effective solutions.
Taking a lead role in identifying optimization and operating cost reduction opportunities.
Providing input into engineering specifications, standards, and procedures.
Preparing, presenting, and monitoring the Maintenance Capital budget for Pipelines.
Participating and providing input into operating cost budget and strategic plans and objectives.
Conduct, direct or participate in Research and Development on new technologies as required.
Fulfill roles as required with respect to corporate initiatives such as the Operational Integrity Management System (HOIMS) etc.
Liaise with appropriate regulatory authorities (NEB, ABSA, AEUB, AEP, SBB, SIR, Sask Environment etc.).
Mentoring/supervising junior technical personnel.
Accountable for overall execution of capital budget and small capital and maintenance projects.
Ensure construction and field modifications meet the requirements of all applicable codes, standards and regulations.
Ensure appropriate jurisdictional authorities are notified/kept informed as per the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management Program (PEIM) program.
Accountable for the supervision, review and stamping of work undertaken by MIT's and EIT's with respect to APEGGA and APEGS professional practice requirements.
