Our most recent growth project, Rapid Growth Project 5, will take installed capacity at our Western Australian Iron Ore operations to 205mpta by the second half of calendar year 2011.
Position Synopsis
The Principal Advisor will be accountable for the development, improvement, implementation and governance of all activities related to the management and application of condition monitoring technologies in WAIO and to give expert advice to maintenance, operations and key suppliers of equipment and plant to WAIO.
Key responsibilities include:
* Develop best practice monitoring and reporting systems to feed into the work management process;
* Develop and implement process to track and quantify the business benefit of condition monitoring activities across WAIO;
* Chair and drive outcomes through the WAIO Condition Monitoring Steering Committee;
* Develop equipment/plant specifications with the project teams to ensure that the required condition monitoring capability is delivered with new installations.
* Develop, implement and maintain standards, procedures and practices for condition monitoring WAIO;
* Develop and implement skills matrix for improving competence of condition monitoring practitioners; and
* Ensure condition monitoring techniques are kept up to date and keep abreast of new condition monitoring techniques that will add value to the business.
Skills and Experience
You will have significant experience with implementation and management of a condition monitoring programme in heavy industry, preferably supported with a tertiary qualification or relevant Condition Monitoring qualification.
Your knowledge and understanding of various techniques and their application in mechanical and electrical fields, in-depth knowledge of failure modes of rotating equipment and vibration analysis will be imperative to your application. You will also hold strong project management and communication skills to be able to build relationships, influence and train others.
