Reporting to the Superintendent - Training, you will have the opportunity to design, develop and deliver new and innovative learning solutions at the Ekati Diamond Mine. You will be responsible for managing the process to maintain and upgrade all curriculum, content, training programs and resources on an ongoing basis. You will act as a champion for innovation and change as part of our training team.
As the successful candidate, you will have experience and/or accreditation in Adult Education, Industrial Training or relevant skills, along with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in training development. You will have proven ability to take initiative in finding and recommending solutions through innovation and creativity. You will also have an understanding of producing learning outcomes that will meet the needs or our employees with diverse educational backgrounds. In addition, you will possess excellent interpersonal/ communication skills.
The EKATI Diamond Mine is located 300 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife and is accessible only by plane. This position is permanent and located at the Ekati Diamond Mine site for the first 6 months. It has a schedule of 4 days on site followed by 3 days off. After 6 months this position will be located in the Yellowknife office, hours of employment will be 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. The incumbent is expected to reside in Yellowknife.
Yellowknife is a thriving community located on the north shore of Great Slave Lake, it is the Capitol City for the Northwest Territories and features endless summer days, cold winters and incredible arctic scenery. The city derives its name from copper knives used by the local Chipewyan tribe during the 1800s and the area continues to be rich in a variety of minerals.
