Mt Arthur Coal Expansion - Drill Fitters

Situated near Muswellbrook in the picturesque Upper Hunter Valley, the Mt Arthur Coal mine is an open cut thermal coal operation that is currently expanding to produce 20 million tonnes annually.

Position Synopsis

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Drill Fitter to be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the blast hole drills at Mt Arthur Coal. Ideally, you will have excellent diagnostic skills with hydraulic systems, Caterpillar and Cummins diesel engines, rotary screw compressed air systems, and auto electrics.

Reporting to the Field Maintenance Supervisor, you will be a competent welder with the ability to organise parts, respond to breakdowns and coordinate and carry out planned maintenance activities. You will also be prepared to assist with the development of the weekly and long term maintenance plans for the Drill fleet.

Skills and Experience

You will have a mechanical trade qualification and be experienced in the maintenance and servicing of large blast hole drills. Rostered primarily on day shift, you will be a team player, prepared to work towards mutual goals to improve productivity and efficiency. Operating in accordance with the mine site Enterprise Agreement you will maintain an environmentally responsible manner and show a genuine commitment to safety and our goal of zero harm.
