Situated near Muswellbrook in the picturesque Upper Hunter Valley, the Mt Arthur Coal mine is an open cut thermal coal operation that is currently expanding to produce 20 million tonnes annually.

Position Synopsis

Mt Arthur Coal is seeking an experienced Open Cut Examiner/Supervisor to join our mining operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

* Actively contributing to Mt Arthur Coal's safety goal of "zero harm" to our employees, environment and community;
* Planning and coordinating work on shift to ensure targets are met safely and cost effectively;
* Undertaking statutory inspections in accordance with coal mining legislation and ensuring compliance with the Mine's HSEC management system;
* Coaching and developing employees and fostering strong positive working relationships between team members and other departments;
* Maintaining mining standards in all areas including road design, work areas and dumps; and
* Identifying improvement initiatives and supporting and monitoring their implementation.

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role you will have:

* Strong commitment to safety;
* Demonstrated supervisory leadership capability;
* Significant experience working in a complex open cut mining environment;
* Open Cut Examiner's Certificate;
* First Aid Certificate; and
* Computer literacy.
