CHPP Maintenance Technician - Instrumentation

Situated near Muswellbrook in the picturesque Upper Hunter Valley, the Mt Arthur Coal mine is an open cut thermal coal operation that is currently expanding to produce 20 million tonnes annually.

We are looking for an Instrument Technician to join our day shift internal maintenance team at the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP).

The position is open to tradespeople with an electrical trade & instrumentation background and preference will be given to those who have a Qualified Electrical Supervisors License, PLC / SCADA familiarity and at least 5 years of processing plant / heavy industry instrumentation experience.

We are looking for people who are self motivated and enjoy actively contributing to the success of their team. You must be receptive to continuous improvement initiatives and enjoy the challenge of developing a world class mine.

The successful applicant will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for carrying out instrument maintenance, assisting with the development of an instrument maintenance scheme, coaching peers in instrument maintenance and performing general electrical trade duties as requested. Additional future development on PLC and Citec systems may be available to allow coverage of the CHPP Control System Specialist.
