Based in our Brisbane office, the Project Development Group (PDG) is tasked with becoming a Centre of Excellence for the undertaking of studies and delivery of significant and sustaining capital projects within BMA. The Project Development Group provides project delivery services to BMA through the management of all phases of the investment life cycle.
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver a mid size sustaining capital project. This project will be a Brownfield’s exercise in and around an existing mine, and will primarily deal with coal handling facilities and associated infrastructure. Reporting to the Manager of Projects, the successful applicant will be responsible for establishing, authorising and reviewing engineering standards, guidelines and overall project and execution procedures. Ensuring the effective completion of the definition (feasibility) phase and overall project delivery, you will manage and be accountable for all elements within the BMA project management framework. Typically this includes the management of project HSEC, scope, cost, schedule, risks, contracting strategy, project execution methodology, commissioning and handover.
With extensive project management experience, the successful applicant will have worked on multiple mine construction projects, having been involved in the entire process from feasibility through to execution. Degree qualified, you will have demonstrated working knowledge of owners’ team / client based project management, having previously overseen EPCM contractors and third party service providers. You will have experience in managing consultants, equipment suppliers, construction contractors and other stakeholders so that project deliverables meet agreed requirements. You will additionally provide project governance using the BMA guidelines for project delivery, demonstrating effective management of stakeholders and team members.
